Every athlete gets knocked down. The ones who make it back up faster, and learn something on the way, are the ones we call resilient. This isn't about being tough or hiding feelings — it's about having a reliable process for setbacks.
Mentors work with athletes on a personal "bounce-back plan": what you do in the first 24 hours after a bad game, a rejection, a losing streak or an injury. That plan includes honest reflection, a conversation with someone you trust, one thing you'll do differently, and a clear next step.
We also work on the story athletes tell themselves. Two athletes can experience the same setback and one comes out stronger while the other loses confidence. The difference is almost always the story.
